I am using Ribbon Hero with Word 2007 SP2. Everything works fine so far except inside the "Page Design and Layout" section, in the "Header & Cover Page" challenge. When I start the challenge, I add the header as indicated. I click in the body of the document to close header mode. Then I add the Cover Page. At that point, an dialog box pops up saying
"Word has encountered a problem. You will not be able to undo this action once it is completed. Do you want to continue?"
If I select "No" I get a message box that says
"There are too many edits in the document. This operation will be incomplete. Save your work."
In this scenario, Ribbon Hero game allows me to complete the challenge. There is another scenario.
If I select "Yes" in the first dialog box, Word and Ribbon Hero
hang, and my CPU Usage indicator in Windows Task Manager
instantly pegs at 98%, and stays there until I kill the WINWORD.EXE process in Task Manager. The Word UI and Ribbon Hero UI are both non-responsive, including the app window minimize and restore controls. Word memory allocation remains stable. In the dialog box where I clicked "Yes", the "Yes" button remains gray, the dialog does not clear, an the Ribbon Hero "Congratulations" round window stays in the foreground of everything, but the Word app window stops repainting, so as I move other small windows across it, copies of them appear imprinted on the screen. The buttons in the Ribbon Hero round dialog are not responsive at this point. Killing either the Ribbon Hero or Word processes results in termination of the WINWORD.EXE process.
This problem does not remove or disable RH, but appears to be localized to that particular challenge. Otherwise, I'm having fun and skating through RH, racking up some points.
