1. What is Ribbon Hero?
Ribbon Hero is an add-in for Word, PowerPoint, and Excel 2007 and 2010, that lets users score points, play challenges, and compete with friends to improve their Office skills. We created Ribbon Hero to test the concept and develop a better understanding of how games can help people boost their Office skills.

3. Does Ribbon Hero exist for applications other than Word, PowerPoint, or Excel?
Not at the moment. For now, Ribbon Hero just works for these three apps. But, if you'd like to see it for more apps, let us know! We've thought about increasing the breadth of Ribbon Hero in the future.

4. How do I earn a perfect score?
Practice, practice, practice! (just kidding)
To earn a perfect score, you should use each feature (or set of features) twice, and on two separate days. One of those times you can earn points from playing a challenge, but the other time, the feature has to be in the application.
For example, take the Transpose Data challenge in Excel. You can play the challenge one day, and then on a new day you can use the Transpose Data feature in Excel. Or, you can skip the challenge entirely, and use Transpose Data twice on two separate days.
When you've earned half the points for a challenge, you'll see a light yellow star next to that challenge. When you've earned all of the points for it, you'll see a dark gold star.

5. Can I earn points on two different computers?
Yes! When you connect to the same Facebook account from two different PCs, we'll sync scores between those PCs. You'll be left with the union of your scores, on both machines.

6. How do I start or stop sharing my score on Facebook?
When you're connected to Facebook, you'll see a link in the top of the Ribbon Hero dialog bog that says "Options." The first option, "Share my scores with Facebook friends," allows your Facebook friends to see you in their leaderboard. Uncheck this option if you want your scores to remain hidden.
When the second option, "Never publish my achievements to my Facebook Newsfeed," is checked, you will stop being prompted to publish your achievements to the Facebook newsfeed.

7. Can I play a challenge more than once and keep earning points?
You can play a challenge as many times as you'd like. However, you will earn points only the first time you complete the challenge, and you won't earn points from then on. The reason we let you play a challenge more than once is that we realize people might want to refresh their skills or be reminded of what they've learned. But, we don't want people to earn millions of points by playing one challenge over, and over, and over again, so we let you earn points only the first time.

8. I’ve played all of the challenges. Will you release challenge packs so I can keep playing?
We very much expect to release new challenge packs on a regular schedule! So, if you get a perfect score, stay tuned for more challenges coming your way.

9. Do you reward points for all of the ways of doing a task?
Not always. We try to reward the best or fastest way of completing a task. For example, if you can do a command with one ribbon click, one keyboard shortcut, or 3 clicks that in a dialog, we'll most likely reward the ribbon click and keyboard shortcut, but not the dialog box. Even if you know how to complete certain tasks, if there's a faster way, we want to show you want it is. That said, this is just a prototype, and it's possible there are some bugs around detecting whether you've completed a task in any way possible. So, if you think you should have gotten credit, please do these two things: (a) Play the challenge again, and use the Hints feature to see how we want you to complete the task. (b) If your way was equally efficient or better, please send us feedback in the discussion forums on this site.
